Origin Beer Lab

Ashland·Family Friendly

About

Perched alongside the active railroad tracks in Ashland, this family-owned taproom north of Richmond lets you watch trains roll past from the outdoor front patio or retreat to the quieter back if you'd rather not. The rotating tap list leans toward experimental styles that break from the usual NEIPA and stout formulas, with cider options alongside the beer, and flights available to work through whatever's new. A mug club program keeps regulars coming back.

I absolutely love the vibe of this place. They always have a great selection, a little something for everybody. That's very important to me because I have a lot of different friends with a lot of different tastes in beer and cider. I love how they have special events for regulars, such as their mug event! Family owned. Family friendly when you visit! Great service! Knowledge and patient staff. And I love how they support the local community. Support local!

Great view of the railroad tracks, could easily hang out in this spot all day! Great selection of experimental beers and it's nice to have something that doesn't taste like every other NEIPA or Stout on the market. Kind of small on the inside if it gets busy, but there's more than enough space outside, whether in the front or back
