Tucked into the Blue Ridge foothills of Bluemont, this Loudoun County taproom pairs its own beers (a pilsner, IPA, and hefeweizen among them) with estate wines that have earned genuine praise, particularly the Viognier and Cab Franc. The kitchen goes well beyond the pretzel-and-cracker routine found at neighboring spots, turning out smashburgers, coconut shrimp, and event spreads featuring dishes like asparagus-and-chicken crepes with Viognier cream sauce. On cool evenings, rentable fire setups keep the outdoor seating comfortable long after dark.

We had a great evening here with family and friends. It feels a bit impersonal at first as you file in to place your order and get a beeper for when you're food is ready.
After that, it gets better. Lots of variety for sitting to enjoy beer, wine and food along with the live music and festive atmosphere. It is a little odd to see so many children running around while their parents imbibe.
We ordered the Sparkling Rose (sweet, light fruit, I would rate 3.3 out of 5) and the Cabernet Franc (nice dark fruit with enough character to entice you, I'd rate a 3.9 out of 5).
We also ordered a variety of shareable food: shrimp, loaded fries, pot stickers, fried pickles, loaded nachos with shredded pork, and pepperoni flat bread. All the food was great, especially those pot stickers!
We had a wonderful time and I look forward to another visit un the future.

There are seemingly hundreds of new wineries and breweries in the Loudoun area -- this one is definitely worth a visit! Their beers and wines are well-crafted and flavorful, unlike many of the new places where the beverages taste like they're made by a hobbyist. There's comfortable seating indoors and out and $20 was a fantastic investment to get a fire up and running for a few hours as the air turned colder into the November evening. The staff were all friendly and helpful. And the food was varied and tasty -- not just huge pretzels and sad cracker plates that some other nearby places believe count as a menu. If Bluemont Station could rotate in more vegetarian options (the veggie burger was a little disappointing), we would happily be regulars!
